A simple sandbox/simulator where u can control the replication of algae/cells

This was made in a day, after i was inspired by some videos on artificial life/cellular automata.
Its very simple, cells gradually lose energy, they can gain energy from food, they need energy and collision with each other to spawn another cell, this spawned cell's energy is based of its parents plus some randomization and the speed and every other attribute of the offspring has some level of randomization.

controls:

UP & DOWN arrow keys controls the time in seconds between food spawns

LEFT & RIGHT arrow keys control the total cell cap

Z = toggles food spawning ON/OFF

X = spawns 1 cell

Game is made in Pico8

(this also means performance is limited, i could of optimized my game e..g not using so many for loops looping through every cell on the screen etc, but this is just a little project, so there is slow down with many cells or food on screen)

thanks.  :)
